Navigating the medical system with a spinal cord injury can be difficult. Often patients find a fragmented system that does not always have the experience or right equipment to care for their unique needs. Our staff, partners and donors recognized the need for a centralized location in the Lowcountry where people with spinal cord injuries could receive treatment. The Roper Rehabilitation Hospital, the Medical University of South Carolina, Carolinas Rehabilitation and Spinal Cord Injury Research Fund (SCIRF) joined together to create the Center for Spinal Cord Injury.
