The 38-foot vehicle hit the road in March 2024 to provide affordable care across the tri-county area, offering screenings, diabetes assessments and health education. Funded by donors and a Boeing grant, it features two exam rooms and a wheelchair ramp.
In 2024, the Roper St. Francis Mobile Health department accomplished the following:
- Reached over 2,600 people with health education
- Administered over 1,400 health screenings, which includes:
- 154 breast exams
- 593 blood pressure checks
- 327 A1C tests
- 216 colon cancer risk assessments
- 58 HIV screenings
- 56 lung cancer risk assessments
- 17 smoking cessation participants
The unit is part of our effort to expand population management, a key initiative in the Roper St. Francis Healthcare 2030 Strategic Plan.
