Roper St. Francis Healthcare’s Mobile Health Department celebrated achieving 2,528 education touches and 1,315 total health screenings between February and October.
The team hosted a “Thanks for Giving” drop-in dinner to show their appreciation for the teammates who volunteer to support health screening efforts.

“I truly believe it is essential to show people that they are valued and appreciated,” Mobile Health Program Coordinator Sharonda Stokes said. “Our work relies heavily on volunteers. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to accomplish all that we have.”

Between February and October 2024, the RSF Mobile Health Department accomplished the following:
- 2,528 education touches
- 1,315 total health screenings
- 152 breast cancer screenings
- 558 blood pressure screenings
- 269 glucose screenings
- 199 colon cancer health risk assessments and take-home kits
- 37 HIV screenings (in partnership with RSF Health Services Center)
The Mobile Health Unit was fully funded by philanthropic support through the Roper St. Francis Foundation and its generous donors. The fully customized vehicle hit the road in March this year. Stokes drives the 38-foot-long vehicle across the tri-county area, attending health fairs and events. Working with teammate volunteers and community health workers, the team helps to provide health screenings, cancer risk assessments and health education to people in the community who may not always have easy access to healthcare.
